In-house Training on NewGenLib

In-house training conducted for Cataloguing and Circulation Sections of the library. The training was aimed at teaching participants how to use open source Library Management Software like NewGenLib to manage specialised library and information activities.

Field Trip: Igbinedion Educational Centre

Pupils of Igbinedion Educational Centre visited John Harris Library on the 31st of May, 2017. They were welcomed by seasoned Librarians who gave them a guided tour round the library. The visit was intended to expose the children to reading materials and to inculcate good reading habits in them.

300 level Library and Information Science students from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, on a field trip to John Harris Library, to get firsthand experience of library and information activities in a fast-growing ICT-compliant academic library.

The library trained 300 level students of the Department of Plant Biology and Biotechnology, University of Benin, on the Use of Databases in Accessing Relevant Research Documents for Effective Research Output, in partial fulfillment of the course, Scientific Research and Communication Skills

ICT Workshop for Pharmacy Students

Library staff training Pharmacy students on Information Discovery and Search Strategies for Evidence-Based Pharmaceutical Practice, in a workshop organised by Pharmacy Students Association of Nigeria (University of Benin Chapter) in collaboration with the University Library.
